Michael Jackson Bad

The seventh album by Michael Jackson was released almost five years after Thriller. Bad was released on 8-31-1987on Epic/CBS Records and has since sold over 30 million copies worldwide.
Bad was the first and at present time the only album to ever have five Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles.
Michael wrote and composed 9 of the 11 tracks on the album and co-wrote and produced Man in the Mirror. For the first time nice and clean Michael showed the world a Bad side with his new image.
Bad won two Grammys, one for Best Music Video Short Form for Leave Me Alone and one for Best Engineered Album – Non Classical won by Bruce Swedien and Humberto Gatica.
Bad was ranked #43 in the 100 Greatest Albums of All Time of the MTV Generation in 2009 listed by VH1. It was also ranked #202 in Rolling Stone magazine 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
There was some debate between Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson on whether to put Streetwalker, which Michael wanted or Another Part of Me, which Quincy wanted.
It was Michael’s manager Frank Dileo who ultimately made the dissection. During a meeting with the three of them Michael first played Streetwalker which Dileo did not like. However when Another Part of Me was played, he began to dance.
Little known Fact:
Bad was initially intended to be a duet between Michael and Prince. Michael planned to use a rivalry that had developed between the two of them by having stories leaked to the media about tension between Prince and himself, just as Bad was being released.
Prince however declined saying to Quincy Jones that the song “would be a hit without him on it.”

Who’s Bad? Michael of course, the ultimate king of pop. There never has been and never will be another performer like him.
This Michael Jackson figurine was inspired by the music video “Bad” which was directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese.
This figurine, which is sure to be a fan favorite is fully assembled and painted. It stands 6 2/3-inch tall and although I don’t think it looks a bit like Michael, it’s a great collectible.
Like to purchase this MJ collectible? Well it’s not available until August of 09 but you can pre-order and have it delivered as soon as it comes out.
Update: As of Thursday, September 17, 2009 this item is no longer available.

This is my favorite of the three Michael Jackson figures, it’s positioned just like Mike in the video.

The Bad Michael Jackson figure is the worst one of them all. It’s really a horrible looking Michael, the real Michael was so adorable!
The people who made it should be ashamed!
He looks more like the ‘Joker’ then michael……. at least from what I can see
[...] The song was eventually released on Michael’s 2001 Special Edition of “Bad“. [...]
