Michael Jackson cleaned up at the 26th Grammy Awards which were held February 28, 1984.    He walked away with a record 8 awards, a record he now shares with Santana who won 8 in 2000.

Michael and Quincy Jones, who worked on the ‘Thriller’album with him, had seats in the front row and it’s a good thing because they were constantly going up on stage.

Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones won awards in:

Record of the Year for ‘Beat It’ -  Quincy Jones  producer & Michael Jackson producer and artist.

Album of the Year for ‘Thriller’ – Quincy Jones producer & Michael Jackson producer and artist.

In the Children category they won:

Best Recording for Children for ‘E.T the Extra-Terrestrial – Quincy Jones producer and Michael Jackson.

In the Production and Engineering category they won:

Producer of the Year – Non-Classical – Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson.
