Some old school parents were abusive to their kids w/ harsh disciplinarian tactics even tho they didn’t know that they were doing so @ the time. That was how THEY were raised so they did the same thing once they became parents because that was all that they knew. They were not of this generation’s touchy-feely “Let’s talk out our emotions.” parenting.
