The King of Pop may be gone but his memory lives on with the millions of fans left celebrating the life of Michael Jackson in many ways. And whether you thought Wacko Jacko was a ‘Thriller’ of a performer or just plain ‘Bad’, you can join in on the festivities to ensure his memory won’t be amiss.
Michael Jackson meant a lot to a lot of people, whether they grew up listening to the funky beats of his greatest hits or simply enjoyed following the singer’s various exploits in the news. His untimely death just before 50 sold out nights at London’s O2 arena certainly left a big hole in the hearts of the public and the media and, with so many people getting in on the Jackson mania, it’s a good time to get your own feelings out and join plenty of others in the aftermath of one of the biggest events of 2009.
Although Michael Jackson only performed on several tours during his career, he was a notorious entertainer and well-known for capturing the imaginations of adults and children during the peak of his career in the 80s and 90s. Many people associate the soundtrack of their childhood with the King of Pop and it’s hard to disagree with so many accolades being awarded to ‘Thriller’ as the best music video of all time. And whether you side with the UK’s choosing of poignant ‘Man in the Mirror’ as the song to remember him by or the USA’s more funky choice of ‘Billie Jean’, it’s easy for everybody to find at least one song they like.
With so many people holding get-togethers in memory of the late King of Pop, lots of revellers are getting in on the action in style and really spicing up the party by choosing to mark the passing of the musical legend with a dedication not easy to forget – whether the parties are in celebration of Jackson alone or the event is just a costume party that attendees want to ensure they get noticed at, the latest trend is for Michael Jackson tribute costumes.
Strolling into the party dressed as one of the biggest pop stars of all time is no mean feat and you might be expected to prove yourself by showing off your moonwalk and Jackson-style vocals, but one thing is for sure – now is the perfect time to give a nod to the King of Pop and enjoy dancing to his greatest hits in style.
